talent show

Allie singing 'This Land is Your Land' at the school talent show. I thought it was perfect!

Allie Turned 8... in January :)

Better late than never!? Beautiful Allie turned 8 in January. We went skiing on her birthday. She was baptized in February. She had to share her baptism weekend with groundhog day, Superbowl, and KC's 40th birthday. She had a ton of support at the baptism. Her teacher from school even drove up from Denver to be in attendance. One special person wasn't able to come. Auntie (and boys). So we decided to send her to Auntie for a weekend of fun. She ended up getting stuck there due to the biggest storm we'd had all year! I missed her terribly with the extension of the trip, but she came back safe and sound. She said the flight made her so scared, but she did it. I'm so proud of Allie. She is so funny and brave. She loves to sing and dance. She is taking Gymnastics and improves each week. She is currently on her 3rd week of swim lessons to perfect her strokes. It has been brilliant! She is LOVING her new skill set in the pool and shows me all of the new things she is learning. Allie is very musical but HATES practicing new songs on the piano. Once we've struggled through them a few times, she is fine, but the first few practices after lessons are much dreaded! I hope she'll stick with it. Meaning, I hope she doesn't wear me down too quickly, I really think she has a musical talent!
We are loving living in Colorado. I am very hopeful this will be our home forever. This spring, the fields by the soccer fields were filled with the most beautiful, yellow, dandelions. I've never seen so many in one place at one time. I can't figure out how to write between each picture??? The next picture: Spencer climbing the rock wall at the much anticipated Johnstown BBQ Days. The climbing director must've had a soft spot for Spencer, he let him climb for a good hour, just moved him to different sides of the wall, all while other kids got one try. I'm smitten by him, so I get it!
3rd picture, Savanah & Jenna in their glow for the school talent show. 4 kids from the ward performed "Firework" with the lights off and their glow on. Savanah is the green one It was a total hit. The crowd went completely wild. Fun idea! Final picture, Savanah and I. I have the least pictures of Savanah. Maybe because she is growing up and so busy??? I love her so much!

A Break from School!

I never get to do fun things like, taking my kids out to a restaurant for lunch. It was so much fun! This break has been LONG! But I'll choose to remember the fun times together, and not the sibling bickering!
The girls took their American Girl Dolls on a walk with Scooter. I had a HUGE smile on my face as they took off.
Allie and Spencer don't bathe together anymore. But on break, I gave in, and pulled out the goggles. They were in the tub for at least an hour. Im Smiling some more!
Cheating on Ginger Bread houses. I'd highly recommend using hot glue. I can't believe I've never thought to use it before. The kids decorated the pieces, then I glued it all together. no more sliding decorations or frosting. No more leaning houses. Ah, pure decorating bliss!

Skiff of Snow

There isn't much snow, but it is too cold to melt it. So, we went sledding. It was hysterical. The snow is dry and sort of sticky, so I ended up pulling the kids down the hill. I love these memories.
Scooter had a BLAST. He ran around the field the entire time.
This chair is my favorite. I finally embarrassed my kids by pulling over, climbing on it, and taking photos. Isn't it amazing! Savanah refused to climb up. I guess that's part of getting older?
Allie in her new Christmas coat. She is always good for a pose. Future model!
Spencer and the post Christmas flu. Doctor: "You should've gotten him the flu shot". Me: " I did" Doctor: "Then he is one of a few cases" Me: "sigh"
Savanah with a new haircut and scarf. She is looking older than 4th grade to me. Another sigh. Beautiful though, and smart, and nice, and funny...

Winter Concert

This year, we spent a lot of time at winter concerts. 1st and 2nd graders were in one concert. 3rd and 4th graders were in another concert. 5th graders and early morning choir were at a third concert. The music teacher did a great job. Her song selection was odd, but I often feel that way. I would much prefer the classic christmas songs to "never ending fruit cake" and "Pass it to the Left" If you've never heard of these songs, I'm not surprised. The highlight was seeing the smile on the kids faces. And, the performances were at the HighSchool auditorium. Stadium seating, amazing sound system, and comfortable seating! The day before the kids got to take a mini-field trip to the HS to practice. As a kid, that is so exceptionally cool! Happy Singing!

time with Dad

Skating with Dad. KC has been working a TON lately. So anytime we can get him in our clutches, we try to do something fun, or we watch football with him. Both things we love!

Fun in the Cold

Skating! at the local shopping center, they freeze this skating rink. It is fun to skate, and we have friends who like to skate with us!

9- Patch quilt

This year my sister asked if I wanted to make a 9-patch friendship quilt with she and her friends. The finished size would be a lap quilt. I declined the invitation, but it got the wheels in my head turning. I wanted to make a King, scrappy 9-patch. One of the reasons I love quilting is the history of it. As I sew, I think about the women who saved pieces of table cloth, clothes... anything they could get their hands on to hand piece scrappy amazing quilts. I dug through my stash and pieced together every odd fabric I had. Ashley got excited and sent me a few blocks. My mom sent me fabrics, My mother-in-law and her sisters sent me fabric. A sweet sister in my ward let me cut 3 1/2 inch strips from any fabric from her stash, which is extremely extensive!!! The quilt ended up so SCRAPPY and amazing. I was excited to see KC's reaction when I gifted it to him. He didn't let me down!

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve PJ's
Why cant I get these posts to work out right? Savanah's new Vanity and Lap Top. Allie's Doll house and furniture. Spencer's Race Track that he loves to pieces!

Totally Random shots!

Alright, I must have lost my touch with this whole deal, because I can't get the correct narration to line up with the picture. I guess you'll have to figure it out. Sorry! Running the Denver Rock'n'Roll half with my brother in law Jason. I'm glad I had a running partner or I'd've never made it! Getting older doesn't help with my running!
Camping for Labor Day Weekend.
Spencer and I found this spider on a dock at Johnstown Reservoir. I'd love to find out what it is. Anybody interested in finding out for us?
We moved to Colorado in July. After packing the truck we went to California and Utah for a summer vacation. It was so much traveling, I still don't feel the bug to go anywhere. The highlights of the summer trip were the beach, and Cars Land in California Adventure. We stayed until the park closed. The only let down, Lego Land. I wish we would've done Disney 2 days instead of going to Lego Land.

It's been too long!

It's difficult to filter through 6 months of photos. Maybe I'll just start fresh? Here is a picture taken at Estes Park. If you've never heard of it, google it. It is beautiful. We've been on multiple hikes there. We are enjoying Colorado. We still miss our friends very much, but that gets easier every month, kind of!

Spencer turns 4

Spencer turned 4 today. He was so happy when I told him it was his birthday and he was now 4 years old. Spencer loves taking pictures, having pictures taken of him, and seeing the pictures. Here are his little feet. He snuck away with my camera today and took this shot. It was one of many, but I think he did a great job capturing how cute his little feet are! Below is Spencer swimming at the Reids house. He has been taking lessons, but loves his little blue life jacket. Third is Spencer in a Helicopter. Next, Spencer fell asleep with this "Nephi" head band on his nose. I thought it was really funny! And finally, Spencer with his 2 grandpas. Both came to Nevada for the dance recital. It was pretty cool. At one point the Grandpa's took Spencer to the park to play. They said they felt like Second Hand Lions. Two old men trying to raise a little boy. Spencer is a fun boy! He loves wrestling, kicking balls, playing with cars and trains, watching movies, playing Mario Brothers on the DS, eating fruit snacks, sleeping in the toy room, riding his bike, scooter, or razor tricycle, jumping on the trampoline, playing with friends, reading books... He likes lots of things!!! He doesn't like being told "no", taking baths, coloring, or grumpy sisters. I can't wait to watch Spencer grow up. He makes my life very full and fun!

Chuck-e-cheese

I know Im posting out of order! Spencers special day. Dinner and gifts at Chuck-e-cheese!
